so after months of being totally dry on job offers, i have two on the table i'm interviewing at the same time. commerce bank, and comcast
commerce i will start out as a teller, making $8.50 an hour in cherry hill. the pros:
-paid days off after three months (that includes sick days. every two weeks i get a paid day off)
-they will pay for business college courses as long as i get an A or a B. if i get a C they pay 75% of the course fee
-full benefits including vision and dental
-discounts on car/life insurance. free gym membership.
-a raise every 6 months guaranteed with an insane amount of room for promotion
-401k opportunity after 6 months
the con is that it's in cherry hill, about 20 minutes away and i'll be working early, and starting out, it's not the greatest pay in the world
i'm also interviewing for comcast as an internet customer service rep. as in if you have problems with your internet, you call me, and i fix you. the pros:
-$12.50 an hour to start, which goes up to $13 something after 1am if i happen to work those hours
-i'd be working around 1pm until around 10pm. perfect schedule for me
-free internet, cable, and all movie channels
-it's literally right around the corner and i could bike there in probably 10 minutes
the cons? i don't think i get benefits, and that's something i was looking for, however i'd be making a substantially higher paycheck at comcast while getting free media for the house (about a $130 a month value)
