so i went to a good friend's wedding over the weekend.

the last time i saw her, it was almost 2 years ago and she told me that she had just gotten engaged to this guy. i met him for the first time at the wedding. i'm so glad i liked him because, going into the engagement, i thought it was a bad idea for her. she, like so many other people i know, got engaged to him after only a couple months of dating.

either way, it was beautiful (and i usually hate weddings), funny (though probably not on purpose) and i was genuinely happy for them.

megan and her family were very happy to see me at the wedding. i called them the day after everything went CRAZY for me with car insurance, basically bawling and told them what all was going on and that i wasn't going to be able to come. well things worked out and i'm so glad i could go.

nick went with me and we both had a lot of fun there. during the prayer at the reception, though, i couldn't stop laughing. i'm pretty sure my entire table was laughing too. i was mostly because there was free wine there and i had like five cups or whatever. possibly more. OH WELL.

i also told nick that we're dancing to "i will" by the beatles. he just looked at me and goes "WE?" HAHAHA

so....on thursday i met with my surgeon. he told me he was happy that i am moving around a lot better and he actually acknowledged that i have made progress (though he wouldn't admit that it's been pretty damn good progress...especially since i was never given a protocol, neither was my physical therapist). ANYWAY....

he says to me toward the end of the appointment that he wants to do manipulation under anesthesia. which means i get knocked out and he bends the shit out of my knee while i'm unconscious and flexible? i don't know. it sounds painful and my physical therapist doesn't want that to happen. mostly because apparently this thing works for maybe the time you are recovering (WHICH WOULD BE ANOTHER TWO MONTHS, GUYS!) and once you are done recovering, you go right back to not being able to bend it as much. awesomeeeee.

either way, it's scheduled. so we'll see where this goes. my pt wants to get me something called a dynasplint. i mostly want it because it sounds like a dinosaur/dinosaur name. and if i do get it, i will refer to it as my dinosaur. HAH.

oh and...this is the best part (to me at least):

several visits ago, i asked what taking the hardware out of my knee would entail. he told me nothing like the original surgery and it would be an outpatient procedure. uhhhh thursday he told me he had NO idea what he would have said to make me believe that because they'd have to go right back into my original incision and take that shit out all over again.

also:

that is how your knee looks if you cut it in half and look at it straight on. the top floating part being your knee cap. after my accident, my knee did not have two little "mountains". it ended up having a HUGE valley on one side because of the fracture. i found out about what exactly it looked like on thursday because i finally asked to see my cat scan. but yeah they put a bone graft on top of the broken piece. and the plate and screws are holding it all up.
